Pharmacophore

Pharmacophore is an assembly of steric and electronic features that is important to confirm the optimal supra molecular interactions with a specific biological target and to trigger or block its biological response. Pharmacophore describes how the structurally different ligand bind to the common receptor. The pharmacophoric points may be located on the ligand itself or may be projected points supposed to be located in the receptor. Some typical pharmacophore features include hydrophobic centroidsaromatic ringshydrogen bond acceptors or donors, cations, and anions.
